Every season has its own selection of brand new fashion trends to follow. This year is certainly no different as there are a number of cool trends that will help you look good as well as keep warm.

Stick to darker colours

This year we’re going to be seeing a lot of those dark colours during the winter months. Black and brown will be there in force as always, but alongside them we will see the likes of dark reds and dark blues as well. Choose your winter clothing wisely to reflect these tastes.

Ever popular leather makes another appearance

You may have seen leather items making an appearance on the catwalks in this year’s collection of winter items worth wearing. It will definitely make frequent appearances in the winter fashion trends and you will find a good leather jacket is a nice item to have around when the weather is cold.

Boots that finish over the knee

Many different celebrities have made these the next must have item. And during the colder winter months they will certainly go a long way towards keeping your legs warm and comfortable. Choose wisely and invest in a pair that will last even through frequent wearing.

Curvy clothing

This is one for the women, as many of the catwalk designed clothing that is making its way into the shops this year will allow women to show off the best of their curves. This should be continued through to the high street as well, allowing even those women who don’t have curves where they want them to look their absolute best.

Look out for embellishments

Another area that looks to be making a comeback is the focus on embellishments. These can come in all kinds of shapes and sizes, but the main focus is on adorning otherwise plain garments to give them an additional boost. Watch out for many items of clothing that are enhanced by embellishments of all kinds in this way.

And finally some good news

One key trend for this winter will be lower prices. This is as a direct result of the recession and the trouble some retailers are having with selling higher priced items. So you can expect your budget to stretch further and still be able to buy nice fashionable clothing this winter.

As you can see there are lots of new and returning trends to look forward to as we get closer to winter 2010. And as it gives way to 2011 we can expect to see more and more of these trends making their way into stores and shops online and offline. By getting ready and deciding which trends you particularly like in advance, you can enjoy the idea of dressing for success and feeling good in the latest fashions.

Just remember to stick to what suits you. By choosing the best of the latest trends for you, you will always look your best.
