Do you think it’s a bad idea to copy celebrity tattoos?
For example, I like Rihanna’s. I know all that thing about individuality, I also know that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. And I’m gonna say that they were inspired by Rihanna. So what do you think?

I don’t think that its bad. I have Rhiannas tattoo on my ear and no body said anything. Which one are you getting? all the starts that goes down on her spine? and if that is the case no but I would prefer to get it done from your shoulder to your back.

You can be inspired by her tattoo without completely copying it. I agree that a tattoo should speak about someones individuality and personality. Maybe change it around a little so it’s something similar…but more your own.

It is a bad idea to copy anybody’s tattoos. Tattoos are meant to be individual. By all means if you see a tattoo that you like then you shoudn’t not get it just because someone has it but if you are getting a tattoo just because someone else has one then it is not a good idea and also a bit creepy.

It is always lame to copy anyone’s tattoo. And no respectable tattooist should go along with it should you want to. They will almost always change quite a bit in a design or refuse to do it outright.

I think you should do whatever you want. Why should you care if people think it’s lame? If you like it that is all that counts. However a tat is a big decision that you will probably live with for many years.
I got some tattoos, one inspired by a tat I saw on a woman in a movie, and now I am ready to remove a couple. And there are ways to do that, but still think a long time before getting inked.

Yes,because it’s not something that is special to you. Nor is it unique, it’s best to think of something that has a lot of personal meaning. Then have the tattoo artist make it unique for you.

If you really like it then get it. I love Rihannas tattoos also. I always thought about getting the little starts on my neck like hers. You shouldnt not get a tattoo just because she has it. Good luck

Inspiration for a tattoo should come from you.
Your creativity not some one elses.
A tattoo, to me. is like a window to your soul. It reflects the person you are..
If you copy some one then where’s the meaning? Youre going to be alot older one day and regret it.
When some one asks you about it what are you going to say “oh I liked Rhianna’s tattoo so I got a similar one” that has no meaning.
One of my tattoos for example says “My angel 01-26-09″
This was the due date of my baby that I lost. It took a big part of me.
So this tattoo is a part of me because that baby was a part of me.
It means something to me.
That may not be the best example but just choose something from you. That states who you are.

If you brought a picture of a tattoo on someone else’s body to my shop, I wouldn’t tattoo it. I would recommend a custom tattoo with the same theme or concept, but, regardless, celebrity or everyday person, you should never copy another person’s tattoo.

Think about how many people have tribal tattoos…
The idea is to do something that makes it your own. Change up the shape or add something to it that makes it individual. Tattoos are such a personal thing. Who cares what people think?! If you want it, get it. You can always add to it later if you want.
